Child Disability Benefit (Disponible en Français)

The Child Disability Benefit (CDB) is a tax-free benefit for families who care for a child under age 18 with a severe and prolonged impairment in physical or mental functions. The CDB varies but can be up to $2,832 per year ($236.00 per month). If a child is eligible, the CDB is paid monthly and also as a supplement to the Children’s Special Allowances (CSA). A child is eligible for this benefit if he/she first qualifies for the Disability Tax Credit (described above) and if he/she also qualifies for the Canada Child Benefit (CCB).
